Information forensics: in-class assignment

Objectives: to correctly evaluate websites.

Process:

1. Break out into teams of two at the most.
2. Learn about the criteria on how to evaluate whether a site is a real site or a fake site. Read the following: http://21cif.com/tools/evaluate/
   
3. Once you've looked at the criteria, begin working on this in-class assignment.  Investigate the following sites:

• Golf Cross full story...
• Save the Pacfic Northwest Tree Octopus full story...
• Silly String Campaign full story...

4- Here is where you file your report on each of these cases, and then print them out when you are done:

5- You MUST write your opinion in the end whether each of these sites is real or fake.

6- When you're done, print them out and give them to the instructor.

Assignments for Week 7

1. The wikipedia proposal is due.
   
2. Your webquest is due
3. posting in your blog. The posting should be a minimum of one paragraph and should tell me something about at least one thing you learned this week, especially in CSI 110 class. You may however also post about things you learned in other classes. Just make sure you mention if and why you think it is important to know about that.
